Led by qualified instructors, our classes are interactive, fun and non-formal. Contact our program coordinator by phone or text at 403-431-0091 or programs@bowvalleylearning.ca. Together, you will determine which class is best for you based on your strengths and goals.

Take a Class

The Bow Valley Adult Learning Centre provides and promotes foundational courses in English language, math, digital skills and skills for success to learners in Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and Mînî Thnî. We recommend people contact our program coordinator at 403-431-0091 or programs@bowvalleylearning.ca to find the best fit, but please feel free to browse our learning opportunities below.

We offer a range of English language classes to suit a variety of skill levels. If this is your first time taking a class with us, please meet with our program coordinator to ensure placement in the class that best meets your needs.

These classes are designed for anyone who wants to improve their technical skills with digital technologies.

GED Preparation

Coming this fall. We provide small classes to help you prepare to take your GED tests. If requested, we may also provide you with a tutor to work with you one-on-one for specific subjects. Please contact us for more information.

Skills for Learning

Coming this fall. This class is for learners who would like to be more successful in meeting the demands of school or work. Learners who register for GED Preparation may benefit from these classes. Please contact us for more information.

How to Register

Call or text the program coordinator at 403-431-0091, or email programs@bowvalleylearning.ca. You can also book an appointment with the coordinator in either Banff or Canmore. The program coordinator can provide you with information about learning options and resources.

Payment Options

You can pay using a credit or debit card, cash or by e-transfer. Sorry, no cheques accepted. Payment is due upon registration. If a student withdraws from a course in the first week they will be issued a full refund.

Financial Assistance

Some employers help you pay for English classes. We also accept the Banff Access Card, the Canmore Affordable Services Card and the Lake Louise ID9 Access Card. Your access card must be presented when you register for class and can only be used if your employer is not paying a portion of the course fee.

Class Cancellations

Schedule changes and class cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. If we postpone or reschedule a class we will make every effort to notify registrants.

Courses with insufficient enrolment are cancelled one week prior to the course start date, unless otherwise stated. Refunds will be issued for class cancellations.
